Actor Ryan Sands from Marvel’s Runaways

Actor Ryan Sands is set to star as exactly one of those parents in the highly anticipated MARVEL series “RUNAWAYS,” premiering on HULU on Tuesday, November 21st. MARVEL’S “RUNAWAYS” is the story of six diverse teenagers led by “Alex Wilder” (Rhenzy Reliz) who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents. Sands will play “Alex Wilder’s” father “Geoffrey Wilder,”a man defined by the grueling path he’s taken to achieve his self-made success. A hulking presence, “Geoffrey” can effortlessly shift from approachable father to intimidating strategist with his son “Alex,” and he along with the other parents make up the supervillain team called The Pride. Executive producer Josh Schwartz, who created the show alongside Stephanie Savage, describes the series as MARVEL meets “The O.C.” The show, heavily inspired by the comics, will have a fresh spin and be driven by mystery, secrets, and lies keeping audiences on the seat of their chairs. Critics are already applauding the series and praising the decision by the show creators to focus on the roles of the parents in the series: “The amount of development given to the parents allows them to come across in more than one note, which will only serve to heighten the drama when the inevitable showdown between the Pride and the Runaways occurs” – The 10-episode weekly series starts rolling out weekly on HULU Tuesday, November 21st.
