Simmons is Executive VP and Executive Director of Talent and Culture Partners at BBVA Compass. She has over 25 years of experience in human resources (HR) and is a former INROADS director, making her an “INROADer” to help further the mission.
“We welcome Reba back to INROADS to be a part of our National Board and are truly excited to have her,” said Forest T. Harper, Jr., INROADS President and CEO. “Since Reba worked with INROADS in previous years, working with her in this capacity will be a great joy. She has so much to offer INROADS, and I know that she will bring a wealth of expertise to the board and for our students to help them reach their goals for the future.”

She is accountable for all aspects of human resources management and provides executive human resources management support to all lines of business and support areas in the bank. In addition, Simmons serves as the Executive Sponsor of the BBVA Compass Employee Volunteer Program, a philanthropic effort that creates opportunities for the bank’s employees to give back to communities through volunteerism and charitable giving. Simmons has served as Chief Human Resource Officer and Chief of Staff at INROADS, where she developed and executed strategies and policies regarding organizational effectiveness, employee relations, staffing, performance and talent management, professional/intern development, and rewards/recognition.
“I’m proud to contribute to and be a part of two organizations that value diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” said Simmons. “My appointment to INROADS’ board of directors reflects my commitment to fostering opportunities for talented students of all backgrounds to be leaders at industry leading companies that strive for equal representation, such as BBVA Compass.”
She has also served as Executive Director, Human Resources Management for the UAB Health System, where she supported key executive recruitment for senior level roles including CFO, CNO, CEO for key business unit, and Chief Learning and Systems Support Officer. In her HR tenure, she has received the opportunity to develop systems, metrics, course curriculum and trainings; provided direction to various organizations to assist in challenges, support and accomplishments; and implemented strategies, processes and programs throughout her HR career.
Simmons holds a Master’s of Arts degree from Birmingham Southern College, a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Certificate in Global Leadership in Healthcare from the University of Michigan.
