Boxing champion Evander Holyfield on chose Chicago-based Icon LLC as his exclusive marketing and licensing agency.
Icon President John Michael Lee will handle all of Holyfield’s marketing effective immediately.
The boxing great was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday June 11th.
“Evander has been one of the most successful fighters of all time,” Lee said in a statement. “Now, as a Hall of Famer, coupled with his intense workout regimen that has him looking as fit as he did 20 years ago, we’re excited to assist him with sponsorship and licensing deals that make sense for a world-class athlete of his stature.”
Holyfield, 54, is the only four-time heavyweight champion in boxing history. He officially retired as a boxer in 2012 after a career that included four heavyweight titles, 47 professional wins, and an Olympic bronze medal captured during the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
In one of his most infamous fights back in 1997, boxer Mike Tyson bit off a chunk of Holyfield’s ear in the third round of a bout in Las Vegas. Last month, it was reported that Holyfield eventually received his ear back from Tyson.
“I see Evander every now and again,” Tyson told The U.K. Sunday Times Magazine in May. “We actually did an ESPN commercial together and I gave him his ear back in formaldehyde.”
Holyfield was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY on June 11. He was elected in his first year of eligibility.
