In the advertising world many have probably heard of Burrell Communications Group. The company is an American advertising agency founded by chairman emeritus Thomas J. Burrell, and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Burrell Communications is one of the largest multi-cultural marketing firms in the world. Most impressive is that some of the company’s work is part of a collection in the Library of Congress. Today, Burrell Communications is now under the leadership of co-chief executive officers, Fay Ferguson and McGhee Osse and chief creative officer, Lewis Williams.

Lewis began his career as an Art Director at Burrell In 2006. Before that time, he spent 14 years at Leo Burnett/Chicago where he became a Senior Vice President/Creative Director. During his impressive and inspiring career, he has worked on such brands as: The U.S. Army, McDonald’s, P&G, Allstate, Budweiser, Miller Lite and Walt Disney World. He continues to work with impressive companies and brands currently.

Lewis is classically trained in graphic design and art direction which makes him extremely versatile in all aspects of the creative process. His general market experience along with extensive African-American consumer expertise gives him a unique and valuable perspective within the creative advertising marketplace. His unique ability to turn strategies and insights into fresh business-building creative has made him the benefactor of awards, such as One Show Entertainment, New York Festivals, Addy’s, Creativity, Effie and the ARF David Ogilvy Award.

Lewis graduated from Kent State University (BFA) and while there established the Lewis and Dona Williams Endowment Fund for minority and economically-challenged art students. Although it is important for him to deliver brand creative for clients. He feels it is also important for him to give back which the purpose of this fund. Lewis works daily with the staff of 30 that he now manages and together they create some of the most influential advertising campaigns around. The dedication and hard work of the team continues to make Burrell Communications one of the best companies to work for to use individual creativity.

Although Lewis Williams has a strong work ethic, to ensure the proper work/life balance, he is a veteran marathon runner and a dedicated yoga student. With dedication such as this, it is no wonder Burrell continues to be such a strong player in the advertising world. Burrell Communications Group.
